Ratios have you feeling lost? Not sure how much oil to add to your aroma beads? Don't worry! It's easier than it seems.
First, you must weigh your oil. No tablespoons. I see you holding that spoon. Put it away. You'll need a food scale like this one.*
You'll hear the word ratio often. This is referring to the ratio of beads to oil.
There are two common ratios: 8:1 and 8:2. 8:1 means 8 ounces of beads to 1 ounce of oil. 8:2 means 8 ounces of beads to 2 ounces of oil. You may also see it simplified to 4:1, which would be 4 ounces of beads to 1 ounce of oil.
Personally, I use 8:1, which means 8 ounces of beads to 1 ounce of oil. I haven't seen a difference in longevity or scent strength by adding more oil. You'll want to do your own testing to determine which you'll use.
When choosing a jar, you want to make sure you leave yourself extra space. This will leave allow the beads to expand and let you properly shake the beads.
